- What is BlueMetal?
- BlueMetal is a music generation API. Send one text prompt and get back a complete, original song, with vocals or instrumental, as 48 kHz stereo MP3, WAV or FLAC. Use it from a website, an app, a script or an AI agent.
- How much does music generation cost?
- A flat $0.0095 per song, whatever its length, with prompt preparation included. That is less than a cent per song. New accounts start with $0.10 of free credit and no card is required.
- How good does it sound?
- Full songs of usually two to four minutes with verses, choruses and a bridge, lyrics written for your prompt, and any genre from indie pop to orchestral. The samples on this page are unedited output, so listen and judge.
- Can AI agents use BlueMetal?
- Yes. A remote MCP server at api.bluemetal.ai/mcp gives agents focused tools to generate and fetch music, the playground exposes WebMCP tools to browser agents, and there are setup guides for Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT, Hermes Agent and OpenClaw. Agents can also read bluemetal.ai/docs/skill.md for a plain-text brief.
- How long does a song take to generate?
- Generation time varies with the song and queue. Create a generation, then poll it or receive a signed webhook when it is done. A sync mode holds the request open for up to 90 seconds if you would rather wait.
- Can I use the songs in my app or product?
- BlueMetal does not claim ownership of songs you generate. You are responsible for reviewing outputs and clearing any third-party rights your use needs; see the Terms for the details.
- Does it work with OpenAI SDKs?
- Yes. Point an OpenAI SDK at api.bluemetal.ai/v1 and call the audio speech endpoint with your prompt as the input. The native JSON API adds async jobs, webhooks, seeds and idempotent replays.
